Welcome to Jacksonville’s First Neighborhood!

springfield neighborhood jacksonvilleLocated in the heart of Downtown, Springfield is a refreshing step-back-in-time. Established in 1869, Springfield’s historic homes and architecture draw people to the area.  Stories behind each home and its residents make each dwelling priceless and important pieces of Jacksonville’s history. The area has experienced a revitalization in the past 10 years.  Many historic homes have been restored, making fixer uppers harder to acquire. New construction in a similar historic style have filled in the vacant lots.

Neighborhood camaraderie is one of the many appeals for home buyers.  Local events, like Porch Fest, create a rich community life that is unique to this neighborhood.  The open air porches, common to the 1900’s era homes, make for easy conversation between neighbors on a cool fall morning.  Springfield is a tight knit community of loyal residents diligently preserving a piece of Jacksonville history.  It is one-of-a-kind!
